International workshop of SYStem (Share Your Soils) project in Sassari/Sardinia-Italy 09-13.05.2022
Almost 40 students from 7 countries and 9 Universities (Poland - Nicolaus University in Toruń, Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences, Poznan University of Life Sciences; Hungary - University of Pécs; Czechia - Česká Zemědělská Univerzita v Praze; Italy - Universita Degli Studi Di Sassari; Spain - Universidad De Extremadura; Latvia - Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies; Estonia - Estonian University of Life Sciences, Slovenia - University of Ljubljana) takes part in an intensive course and field workshop on soil classification and the use of the SYStem mobile/web application to discuss the systematic position of soils. Students had the opportunity to investigated 13 soil profiles from three different landscapes: olive plantations, vineyards and pine forests.
Our university is represented by pedologists - Marcin Świtoniak, Przemyslaw Charzynski and geomorphologist - Ola Loba; students - PhD – Kinga Milewska, II degree – Donata Wysocka i Alicja Jarnath, I degree – Sandra Matuszewska and Mateusz Suwiński.
As for beginning of MAy - the weather was perfect to deepen field knowledge of interesting soils - Leptosols, Phaeozems, Cambisols or Luvisols. (photo - Marcin Świtoniak)
